This rooftop café/bar is more than a space; it is a story of identity, memory, and design. Inspired by my journey between Saudi Arabia and summers in Greece, the design reflects heritage and personal nostalgia.

Greece Rooftop

Salmani design, our studio’s reinterpretation of late-century modernism rooted in Saudi tradition, forms the backbone of the space. Crisp Aegean whites and deep blues create balance and contrast, while the bar stands as the heart of the rooftop, a sculptural centerpiece where Mediterranean minimalism meets Najdi ornamentation.

Harmony and elegance define the Al Amareah project, inspired by a boho aesthetic. A carefully curated palette of earthy tones, crisp whites, and warm beiges forms a calm and balanced foundation, enriched by green armchairs that bring life and depth to the space.

A custom Venetian-inspired sliding glass door separates the salon from the dining area, where the existing AC ducting and ceiling shapes informed an asymmetric design, creating balance with clever visual framing around the garden view.

In the heart of the city, steps from the Prophet’s Mosque, this hotel draws from the sacred geometry of Ward Al Madinah, the quiet beauty of traditional mashrabiya, and the spiritual presence of the Mosque’s green dome.

The design concept was built around the cultural richness of Najdi traditions, with a special focus on the atmosphere of traditional weddings. Patterns, textiles, and handcrafted details were integrated into the interiors, not as decoration, but as narrative elements.
